Most workshops feature two activities and an exploration zone, an open-format space for hands-on play and "stealth" learning.
Earth, Wind, Water, and Electricity - Grades K-2
Offered through Sharon Community Education
May 1 - June 5
Wednesdays 3:45 - 5:15
This six-session series explores the ancient elements of nature - well, except fire - but electricity seems like it would fit in that category. Get up close and personal with dirt, build a zip-line zeppelin and tiny cargo ships. Build a working electrical circuit and levitate stuff on the air table.
STEAM Exploration - Grades 3-5
Offered at An Unlikely Story in Plainville, MA
Wednesdays at 4 pm, starting July 10
A six-session series spanning multiple disciplines that allows kids to identify their interests. Look at pond life (or your own cells) under a microscope, build a camera obscura, make a battery from pennies and washers.
